Established in 1887, the Raffles Hotel was named after British statesman Sir Thomas Stamford Raffles, the founder of modern Singapore. Raffles has welcomed high-profile guests including Charlie Chaplin, Queen Elizabeth II, Christian Louboutin, and Karl Lagerfeld. The Hotel has also been featured in several films, most recently Crazy Rich Asians.
