Inspired by the infamous trunkful of sweaters created by the 11th Duke of Devonshire. Ā
The Duke, who married Deborah Mitford, the youngest of the perhaps even-more infamous Mitford sisters, commissioned a collection of sweaters with embroidered slogans that ranged from the cheeky ("Never Marry a Mitford") to the unmentionable.Ā Keeping in the spirit of the late Duke, we've opted for the former.
For our tribute to the Duke, we turned to FUND Knitwear whose sweaters are knitted, embroidered, and hand-finished in England from local lambswool spun by a mill on the banks of Scotland's Loch Leven.Ā In addition to producing beautiful knitwear, for the sale of each sweater, FUND provides 10 free school meals to children in some of the poorest countries in the world.
